Over one billion people exist on small farms in Ghana West Africa for less than two dollars a day, with irrigation being their single biggest hurdle to increasing agricultural productivity.

At the Y, we’re for social responsibility and helping our neighbors, near and far. In an effort to eradicate poverty and preserve the rainforest, we are collecting used or new athletic shoes (used not abused - adult sizes seven and up) and soccer cleats of all sizes (adult and child). In partnership with Perpetual Prosperity Pumps Foundation, a non-profit foundation that helps bring technology and training to the poorest farmers and villages in Ghana West Africa, we hope to collect 600 pairs of shoes.

Collecting sneakers provides: water access, an irrigation system, training, seed, livestock; that allows a family to enjoy a perpetually sustainable harvest. Make your athletic shoe and soccer cleat donation today - because together, we can lift a family out of poverty forever.
