H.I.P. Kids
(ages 8 & up)
For boys and girls who need help adopting
a healthier lifestyle
H.I.P Kids is a program for children who are
at risk of becoming, or who are, overweight
or obese. Children and their parents meet and
learn from professionals with degrees in Exercise
Science and Nutrition to identify the environmental,
behavioral, dietary and physical activity factors
that contribute to a child’s overall health.
The H.I.P. Kids Program approach supports the
whole family, through education, to help prevent
or reduce the onset of diseases associated with
a sedentary lifestyle and poor diet choices.

Every child deserves to be truly valued and
cherished. Working together with our children
in a spirit of community, confidence, pride

increased confidence and self-esteem, self-discipline,
teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, coordination

Are you confused about which of the exercise
equipment is optimal for your fitness goals?
Do you even know how to use the machines? No
worries! The Wellness Center Orientation will
show you how to use the equipment and start
you off on a safe and productive exercise plan.
The orientation will also review Wellness Center
rules and etiquette policies. We recommend this

Get Fit/ Stay Fit
(12-Week Program)
This program is intended for members looking
for an exercise plan that progresses at a much
slower pace than the
Wellness
Center Orientation. Members benefiting most
from the Get Fit/ Stay Fit
program are those who feel intimidated by a
wellness center environment, are apprehensive
about using the exercise equipment, or are new
to exercise. LY
& RY
You will meet with a Wellness Coach for
3 appointments:
»
Appointment 1 – you
will discuss any barriers to exercise and
the strategies you will implement to overcome
those barriers. You will be introduced to
our cardiovascular equipment, such as the
treadmill, bike, and elliptical. Flexibility
exercises will also be demonstrated. You
will only do cardiovascular exercise and
stretching for the first 3 weeks of the
program.
»
Appointment 2 – you
will be shown some of the strength training
machines. For the next 4 weeks, your workout
routine will involve cardiovascular exercise,
stretching, along with some of the strength
training machines.
»
Appointment 3 – you
will be shown additional strength training
machines that will complete your overall
exercise plan.
